Thank you for your cooperation during today’s Hope Alert regarding DeWitt Center and the Bultman Student Center.

Earlier this morning, Campus Safety and the fire department responded to an electrical fire in the lower level of DeWitt. The fire was quickly contained. However, there is smoke and water damage in that area.

The building has been cleared to open by the fire department, but small portions of the lower level remain closed while cleanup and restoration take place. It will take some time to fully clean and air out those spaces. Signage is posted to clearly mark restricted areas. Please continue to avoid those sections of DeWitt.
